  59. 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

  61.     A.  Store materials in dry place, off the ground, where
  62.         temperature will not exceed 90 degrees F (32 degrees C).

  64.     B.  Handle material in manner that will prevent damage to
  65.         finished surfaces.  Do not install scratched or damaged
  66.         components.

  93. 2.2 MATERIALS

  95.     A.  Glass Block Support Grid:  Field assembled, extruded
  96.         aluminum two-way hollow structural grid, sized to fit
  97.         glass pavers with one paver to a module, and perimeter
  98.         frame.
  99.         1.  Aluminum:  ASTM B 221, 6063-T6 alloy.
  100.         2.  Finish:  Clear anodized matte finish.

  102.     B.  Glass Pavers:  Solid glass units, nominal 6 inches (152
  103.         mm) square by 1 inch (25 mm) thick.

  121. PART 3  EXECUTION

  123. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  124.  
  125.     A.  Verify applicable field dimensions and adjust as
  126.         necessary to accommodate frame.
  127.  
  128.     B.  Examine supporting structure and correct any conditions
  129.         that are not in accordance with manufacturer's
  130.         installation instructions or approved shop drawings.
  131.  
  132. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  133.  
  134.     A.  Install grid system and glass pavers according to
  135.         manufacturer's instructions.
  136.  
  137.     B.  Set grid frame so that top surface of grid and pavers is
  138.         flush with adjoining floor surfaces, unless otherwise
  139.         indicated.
  140.  
  141.     C.  Insert paver units into paver boots and set in grid
  142.         modules.
  143.  
  144.     D.  See Section 07900 for sealant installation requirements.
  145.  
  146.     E.  Apply sealant around exterior face of glass pavers
  147.         completely filling channel.  Tool sealant flush with
  148.         surface.
  149.  
  150.     F.  Seal joints between grid members.

  152.     G.  Apply sealant between perimeter frame and adjoining
  153.         construction.

  155. 3.3 CLEANING
  156.  
  157.     A.  Clean exposed surfaces of aluminum grid with clean, soft
  158.         cloth and mild hand soap using gentle rubbing action.  Do
  159.         not use abrasive or solvent type cleaners, detergents, or
  160.         paint removers.
  161.  
  162.     B.  Remove labels from glass pavers and clean with soft cloth
  163.         and water.
  164.  
  165. 3.4 PROTECTION
  166.  
  167.     A.  After installation, protect installed work from damage
  168.         caused by subsequent operations at project site.
